Local Control Over AI Data Centers: How Springettsbury Voters Should Vote in the 2026 US House Race

The Data Center Question in Springettsbury's 2026 House Race

If you live in Springettsbury Township in York County, you're in Pennsylvania's 10th Congressional District, and the 2026 US House race there pits Janelle Stelson against incumbent Scott Perry. On AI data centers, they split sharply: whether communities such as Springettsbury keep the right to decide what gets built, and who pays when utility rates climb. Both questions are at stake in this year's race, and the candidates' answers put them on opposite sides.

Where Stelson and Perry Stand on AI Data Centers

Stelson believes local communities should have the right to approve or reject a data center project without getting sued by big corporations. She says that if communities do not want data centers, they should not be built. Stelson also will fight for accountability on utility rate increases and push for investments that bring costs down.

Her campaign says Perry took campaign cash from data center developers and voted for nearly $70 billion in tax breaks for data centers. Perry has said the United States is in a race for AI with China and "simply can't afford to slow down the build-out" of data centers.

For Springettsbury, the difference is between a build-out that cannot slow down and a community that gets a vote.

The Choice for Springettsbury Voters This November

Springettsbury voters who want a community voice on data centers and accountability on utility bills should support Janelle Stelson for Congress. She spent 26 years in Central Pennsylvania television news, asking tough questions and holding the powerful accountable, and she approaches data centers and utility rates the same way. Register by October 19, 2026, and make a plan to vote for Janelle Stelson on November 3.
