Making Life More Affordable
Central Pennsylvanians are working harder and falling further behind. Scott Perry has had 13 years to help and instead cast the deciding vote on a budget that slashes food assistance, raises utility bills, and adds $3.3 trillion to the debt, all to protect billionaire tax breaks and push a national sales tax that hits the middle class hardest. His chaotic tariff policy is killing jobs and raising prices. Janelle will fight for tax relief that reaches working families and push bipartisan solutions to lower costs on food, medicine, gas, and housing.
Health Care
Quality, affordable health care should be accessible to everyone, not a six-month wait for a physical or three days to see someone when you're sick. Janelle supports letting the government negotiate drug prices and opposes the cuts Scott Perry voted to advance, which would strip coverage from nearly 20,000 local residents, worsen the doctor shortage, and raise premiums. No one should choose between groceries and a prescription.
Fixing Congress
Janelle supports bipartisan legislation, including a bill by Republican Congressman Chip Roy to ban members of Congress and their spouses from stock trading, and to prohibit former members from becoming paid lobbyists. She also supports a constitutional amendment limiting House members to six terms. Meanwhile, Scott Perry is running for his eighth.
Good Jobs & Fair Wages
Pennsylvania's $7.25 minimum wage is lower than every neighboring state, including West Virginia. An hour of work barely buys a gallon of milk and a loaf of bread. Janelle will fight for jobs that pay enough to build a life, keep skilled workers in Central Pennsylvania, and invest in the trades.
Supporting Small Businesses
Perry's tariffs have already cost the average household over $2,300, forcing small businesses to raise prices or close. Perry voted to raise the insurance premiums many rely on. Janelle will work to cut barriers, advocate for SBA resources, and make her congressional office a real partner for local businesses.
Investing in Rural Communities
Family farms are the backbone of this district, and Washington's failure to pass an updated Farm Bill has left them without stability or clarity. Janelle will make a five-year Farm Bill a top priority, one that lowers input costs and opens doors for new farmers. She'll push to break up the consolidation that lets four companies control over half of all chicken processing while squeezing family farmers out. She supports stronger avian flu prevention resources and legislation giving farmers the right to repair their own equipment.
Honoring Veterans
Those who serve this country have earned their benefits. Scott Perry voted against the largest expansion of VA health care in history and was the only Pennsylvania member of Congress to vote against housing assistance for homeless veterans. Janelle will vote to expand veterans' access to health care, job training, and continuing education.
Immigration
Janelle opposes open borders, because communities deserve to be safe and drugs and violent criminals must not cross unchecked. But deportations must focus on those who pose real public safety threats, and that's clearly not happening. Due process must be followed. ICE agents must wear uniforms and badges, not masks. Every incident involving ICE agents must be independently investigated, and ICE should not be rewarded for arresting legal citizens. Janelle will work across party lines to fix the system, fully fund modern border technology, and close the gaps enabling drug trafficking.
Abortion
The next generation will have fewer rights than their mothers, and that's unacceptable. Women's health decisions belong to women and their doctors. Scott Perry has sponsored a nationwide abortion ban with no exceptions for rape, incest, or the life of the mother, and has supported banning IVF. Janelle will fight to restore the federal protections Roe guaranteed.
Education
Janelle is the daughter of a public school teacher and coach who moved furniture over the summer to put food on the table for his four daughters. Schools are the foundation of our communities, and Janelle will be a strong advocate for teachers, education support staff, cafeteria workers, and bus drivers, fighting for the wages and respect they deserve.
